Yesterday, some Ijaw youths believed to be members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) reportedly attacked some members of the All Progressive Party (APC) yesterday at Bayelsa during a live radio broadcast of Rhythm 95.7FM.
According to Eyewitness account, about 50 thugs led by the president of the Ijaw Youth Congress (IYC) Udeng Eradiri, who is also a PDP member stormed the radio station during a live programme anchored by Lishman Onisodemunya.
While narrating the ordeal, the witness claims that the thugs came with Police support, manhandled the studio and beat up one Mike Edounkumor and Wisdom Ikuli believed to be Staunch supporters of APC and also the spokesman and mobilisation Officer of the Ijaw Youth Council respectively, after which they were whisked away in handcuffs by the policemen that came with the thugs.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police has been briefed on the incident while one of the attacked men Edounkumor is said to be currently in coma and has been rushed to an undisclosed hospital in Yenogoa.
